Takeaway

Coming down with the flu can lead to symptoms like fever, tiredness, or chills. Natural and home remedies can relieve some of the symptoms. However, there is no cure for the flu.

The flu (or influenza) is caused by a virus. Several kinds of viruses can cause the flu.

While there’s no cure for the flu, there are natural remedies that might help soothe flu symptoms and shorten the duration of the illness.

Read on to learn about 10 natural remedies that may help you cope with flu symptoms. We’ll explain how to use them and why they can help.

1. Drink water and fluids

Drinking water and other fluids is even more important when you have the flu, whether you have respiratory or stomach flu.

Water helps to keep your nose, mouth, and throat moist. It can help your body get rid of built-up mucous and phlegm.

You can also get dehydrated if you aren’t eating or drinking normally. Diarrhea and fever (two common symptoms of the flu) can also cause water loss.

You can stay hydrated by consuming plenty of:

water

coconut water

sports drinks

herbal tea

fresh juice

soup

broth

raw fruits and vegetables

You’ll know you’re drinking enough water and liquids if:

you have to urinate regularly

the color of your urine is almost clear or pale yellow

If your urine is a deep yellow to amber color, you may be dehydrated.

It’s also helpful to avoid smoking as much as possible since it can further irritate your nose, throat, and lungs.

2. Get plenty of rest

It’s important to rest and get more sleep when you have the flu.

Sleeping can boost your immune system, helping your body fight off the flu virus. Cancel your usual routine and make sleep a priority to get back on your feet.

3. Drink warm broth

Drinking warm chicken or beef bone broth is a good way to stay hydrated. It also helps to loosen and break up nose and sinus congestion.

Bone broth is also naturally high in protein and minerals like sodium and potassium. Drinking broth is a good way to replenish these nutrients while you have the flu. Plus, protein is important for rebuilding immune cells.

You can buy ready-made varieties, but be sure to look for those that are low in sodium (salt). You can also make your own broth by boiling chicken or beef bones. You can freeze portions of broth for future use.

4. Up your zinc intake

The mineral zinc is important for your immune system. This nutrient helps your body make germ-fighting white blood cells.

That zinc might help ease cold and flu symptoms. Zinc helps your body fight the flu virus and may slow down how fast it multiplies.

You can take a zinc supplement or a multivitamin with zinc during flu season. You can normally get plenty of zinc from a balanced daily diet. Foods that are high in zinc include.

red meat

shellfish

lentils

chickpeas

beans

nuts

seeds

dairy

eggs

5. Rinse with salt water

Warm water and salt rinse (sometimes called a saltwater gargle) can soothe a sore throat. It can also help to clear mucous. Here’s how to rinse with salt water:

Boil or heat up water and let it cool until it’s warm or at room temperature. Mix 1/2 tsp of salt with 8 ounces of warm water.

Pull the salt water to the back of your throat and gargle it for 10 to 30 seconds to rinse your mouth and throat.

Spit the water into a sink and repeat 2 to 4 times.

Do not swallow the salt water. Do not allow children to gargle until they can safely gargle with plain water.

Remember to use your nebulizer with food grade hydrogen peroxide and Salene and a drop of iodine in your nose hose. It helps to kill off the bacteria fast.

Also, if you can get this antiviral tincture, made from bitter herbs, from your doctor will help too.

6. Drink herbal tea

Several herbs have natural antiviral and antibacterial properties. Star anise is a star-shaped spice from which oseltamivir was traditionally extracted.

Oseltamivir phosphate (better known as Tamiflu) is a prescription drug used to speed recovery from or to prevent getting the flu. Its antiviral properties are effective against some kinds of flu viruses. Other herbs and green leafy teas also have germ-fighting and antioxidant benefits.

An herbal tea may help your body fight off the flu virus. A hot herbal drink is also soothing to your throat and sinuses.

You can make a flu-fighting herbal tea with star anise and other herbs like:

gypsy tea

cold and fever tea

green or black tea

turmeric

fresh or dried ginger, or ginger paste

fresh garlic

cloves

Sweeten herbal teas with pure honey. Honey, royal jelly, and other bee products have been foundTrusted Source to have natural antiviral and antibacterial properties.

Many bagged teas are available with these as dried ingredients combined together.

7. Apply essential oils

Some types of essential oils may help protect you against certain viruses and bacteria. One study found that tea tree oil helps fight the flu virus by slowing or stopping the rate at which the virus multiplies.

According to the study, tea tree oil works best when used within two hours of infection. This suggests that it may help block the flu virus from multiplying.

In practice, you might add a few drops of tea tree oil to liquid hand soap when you wash your hands or mixed into the lotion you use. Some commercially made mouthwashes include it as an ingredient.

Other plant and herbal essential oils may also work as natural antibiotics and antivirals. These include:

cinnamon oil

peppermint oil

eucalyptus oil

geranium oil

lemon oil

thyme oil

oregano oil

Use essential oils only as directed. Do not ingest essential oils; many are toxic. Most essential oils can be used on the skin after they’re mixed with oils like almond or olive oil. You can add fresh and dried herbs and spices to food to get similar benefits.

Diffusing essential oils into the air with a diffuser may also help fight some kinds of viruses and bacteria. Inhaling essential oils can also influence children, pregnant and nursing women, and pets.

8. Use a humidifier

The flu virus survives longer in dry indoor air, which may make it spread more easily. Colder outdoor temperatures generally lower humidity in the air.

Indoor air can get dry from heating and air conditioning use. Using a humidifier to add humidity in your home and workplace might help reduce flu viruses in the air.

9. Inhale steam

Breathing in steam from a warm pot of water can help soothe your nose, sinuses, throat, and lungs. Steam inhalation or steam therapy uses water vapor to help loosen mucous congestion.

The warm moist air may also relieve swelling in the nose and lungs. Steam inhalation might help to soothe a dry cough, irritated nose, and chest tightness.

You can heat water for steam:

in a pot on the stove

in a microwave-safe bowl or mug in the microwave

in a vaporizer

Avoid steam from boiling water. Test the temperature of the steam before breathing it in. Keep your face and hands far enough away to avoid scalding or burning yourself.

You can add a few drops of essential oils or a medicated vapor rub to the water for added antiviral and antioxidant benefits.

10. Eat a bland diet

If you have the stomach flu, eat small amounts of food at a time. Try hand-sized portions.

The stomach flu can give you nausea, cramps, and diarrhea. Bland foods are easier to digest and may help ease your stomach symptoms.

Foods that are easy on the stomach

BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast)

crackers

cooked cereals (oatmeal)

gelatin (Jell-O)

boiled potatoes

grilled or boiled chicken

soup and broth

electrolyte-rich drinks

Avoid foods that may irritate your stomach and digestion.

Foods to avoid while you have the stomach flu

milk

cheese

caffeine

meats

spicy foods

fried foods

fatty foods

alcohol

Flu symptoms

The flu typically causes respiratory — nose, throat, and lung — symptoms. Top flu symptoms are:

fever

chills

headache

body ache

runny or stuffy nose

sore throat

dry cough

tiredness and fatigue

The stomach flu is a flu virus that causes digestive symptoms. You might have:

chills

fever

nausea

vomiting

stomach cramps

diarrhea

Flu vs. cold

Viruses cause the flu and the common cold. Both kinds of infections can give you a fever. Cold and flu viruses cause similar symptoms. The main differences between a flu and a cold are how bad the symptoms are and how long you have them.

Flu symptoms begin suddenly and are typically severe. The flu can last for 1 to 2 weeks. Cold symptoms are typically milder. You might have a cold for a week or longer.

The takeaway

In most cases of the flu, you won’t need to see a doctor. Stay home, and don’t bring the virus to your workplace or school. Drink fluids and rest. Home remedies can help reduce symptoms so you can be more comfortable and rest more easily while you have the flu and rest has a big impact on getting better faster

Dog-Friendly Fall Fun

Here we are playing in the Fall leaves again. My sweet Frankie and Gracie. They are having fun hanging out in the cool crisp Fall air in the mornings together. They are my buddies, and I love them. I am blessed to have them around still. They are getting older; my Frankie has joint issues just like I do. We’re getting through it with Yeshua’s help.

I am excited for more hikes in the woods not far from us. We may not be able to walk as far as we used to. But my dogs so enjoy being outside. I can tell they can’t wait by Frankie sitting in the back of my car with a big smile. Yes, he smiles kind of silly but so cute. And Gracie she’s always putting her chin on my shoulder so happy that I spent time with her.

I am reminded of them both when they were puppies. Wow! My Frankie is my Boo Boo Bear as a nick name and Gracie is my Betty Boop de Boop that’s her nick name. Frankie was such a round little ball of fur as a puppy. And Gracie was a cute and sassy puppy. Like I said I am so blessed. Though sometimes they need attention way too much some days. Kind of like my son needed that attention right now as an only child. My dogs are like two- or three-year-olds. But that’s ok I love them just the way they are. How God made them. It is nice to have my pups, they give me comfort when I’m down. They have so much love to share.

APPLE HARVEST TIME

We had a fun time working at the Apple Harvest Festival at Onalaska. It was hard work getting all of my body products inventoried and put in bins to sell. My hubby came and helped me pack up and unpack all of my products and crafts. I sold a few items, and I pray they were blessed.

When we got to the festival, we noticed that Yeshua blessed us with some Believers in Yeshua there right beside us. They were played worship music and talking to the teens and young adults about Yeshua/Jesus. After we got all set up, I took a lot of time pricing, signage, and making my booth look inviting. All I could think of is my son. He was always with me setting up my booths and even selling my body products.

I got to meet some special ladies at my booth. Some of them actually bought some of my body butters and body sprays. They seemed to have liked my Cherry Blossoms Body Spray. The one gal I remember was a daughter of God. She came into my booth with her shades on and a big smile. She didn’t buy anything, but she talked about what happened to her a few years ago. She was close to a bomb, and she lost a portion of her head and her hearing totally. She is a miracle walking; she does know Yeshua/Jesus. I was so amazed what she had been through. I felt close to her, and I thought probably because I have another warrior sister that had horrible damage to her head from her ex that beat her head on concrete. She’s a miracle too. So, you see were not alone in all of the trauma’s we all been through and are alive to talk about it.

I just wanted to share that with you all. I was blessed beyond measure that day at the Apple Harvest Festival. My hubby and I went to dinner afterwards. We were exhausted and worn out. That’s why I didn’t get my blog post done. Oh, we also went to the farm tours the next day and looked at four different farms. That was fun we learned and got ideas for our farm. Then we went to the Mason Jar dinner with a bunch of people in our community. We enjoyed the couples beside us we talked and especially my hubby talked and talked. We had fun just getting out to meet new people around and we enjoyed each other too.

COMMUNICATE BETTER

10 Steps for Discussing the Trivial to the Traumatic with your Partner

  1. Get comfortable and if it’s a difficult topic you plan to discuss, go someplace relatively “neutral” works best. Don’t talk about money in bed, for instance.
  2. Give your partner your full attention. Turn off or put down any distracting technology such as your cell phone or laptop. Lean in towards your partner/hubby a little bit. Let your body-language send a clear message of connection especially if you are concerned that topic may create distance, at first.
  3. Look at your partner and make eye contact. Don’t try and “stare down” your partner, but don’t send a message that you’re afraid to face your partner, either. If your eyes wander, bring them back to your partner’s face.
  4. Open up with an “I statement” that takes the pressure off your partner. This doesn’t mean something like “I need you to change,” either! Own your own feelings and use language that indicates your awareness that each of us is responsible for our own thoughts and behavior.
  5. Invite your partner to share his perceptions that use an open question (one that doesn’t invite a one- or two-word answer).
  6. Don’t interrupt! Stay focused, attentive, and connected. Even if you particularly like or simply don’t agree with what is being said. Hang in there and keep your focus on the goal of honest communication.
  7. Reflect back to your partner/hubby what you think your partner is saying check in with your partner to make sure you are hearing the overall message, not just the words. Check back in with him, “What I hear you saying is…” or “If I understand you correctly, then I think you feel…” This lets your partner know that you really care about the message being conveyed and that you are invested in making sure you heard it accurately. It also helps you empathize with your partner’s perspective, it’s amazing how different a relationship can look to two different people!
  8. Use collaborative language and recognize that when the two of you are in a room, Yeshua is present with you both. To help your relationship. Marriage counselors are taught that working with a couple means there are time to reflect on your relationship with them in the room as a mentor for you both.
  9. If there’s a problem that you are trying to solve, communicate your ideas for solutions. Maybe something like, “Well, perhaps we could try…” Or “What if I did … and you did …” Or, maybe even better yet, “I’m stuck. What do you think we need to do next?”
  10. Keep the communication flowing, be willing to listen, make sure you are really hearing the message your partner/hubby is sending, and don’t be afraid to say you don’t know or understand what he is saying.
  11. Keep trusting Yeshua/Jesus to help you understand better in time and in prayer.

I hope this will help and give you an idea of what can be done on a better communication with your mate. I pray that Yeshua will keep guiding you through this life. And that you will keep trusting Him to show you how to communicate better.

BROKENESS TO LIFE

I spent some relaxing time with Yeshua last week. I am a blessed daughter of the King. He’s got me in His hands holding me and reminding me where I’ve come from and how He’s gotten me this far. My mind and heart have been so at peace. Gosh, at first, I didn’t know if I wanted to go to the ocean. But now I’m so grateful that I did.

I read books and my Bible, and I got to do crafts. It was so nice to walk the beach every day. It was enjoyable to just do what I wanted to do or not do. I did some self-care too. The weather was nice, I went to a wooded area on the beach and hung out there. I practiced my blowgun and took awesome pictures with my beautiful camera.

So, now I’m home my dogs missed me and jumped all over me with kisses. As you know I’m the only hiking buddy for them. It was very nice to see them and walk with them in the woods again. My Frankie is getting older, he seemed to have missed me way more than my other dog, Gracie. It was nice to see Dave my hubby too. We actually spent some time together over the weekend. We went and saw a few art studios. That’s always fun for me since I’m an artist and I enjoy other artists art.

For now, I’m just trying to settle back into the home life of chores and getting things done around here. I’m getting ready to have a few ladies over to my house for our Bible Truth Warrior Women Gathering. I try to do this gathering once a month but because of the summer we haven’t had it for a few months. I’m also getting ready for the Apple Harvest Festival the first Saturday of October. I sell my body products there in my booth. Not sure if I will do anymore booths anywhere else yet. Yeshua will let me know. Do you like the picture I found for this post? It’s similar to the one on my business cards.

SUNNY AND COOL BREEZEY BEACHES

This picture is the sunsets here at the ocean. The soft sand between your toes while walking on the beach. One of my favorite things to do here. I am relaxing in the warm and cool ocean breezes. It always takes me a couple of days to just let go of all of my stresses. To hand them all to Yeshua.

Today I went out to see my girlfriend I hadn’t seen for four and a half months. She owns a cute gift and home decor/antiques shop close to the beach. It was so nice to talk and catch up. Yeshua/Jesus gave us some time with no one coming in and we got to pray together. What a blessing to me and to her. On my way back to the beach cabin I went into the antique shop next to my cabin and was able to talk and hang out with my other girlfriend here at the beach.

I have been drawing/ painting and been doing some crafts. It’s been fun and calming. When I left home on my way to the ocean cabin “I thought I don’t need to go for a week”. Well, now I’m here and starting to finally relax and spend time with Yeshua. He’s been reminding me how much He loves me and that He has great plans for me to bring Him Glory. I’m excited to just be quiet and walk the beaches. I know it’s good for me. Sometimes it’s hard to just let go and let Yeshua work in me for the good. Do you know what I mean?

MY WAY TO SANITY

Well, I am going to the beautiful area of Mo clips. To sit and rest in the arms of my Father. I am excited to get away from all of the heat, my dogs, my cats, my house. My husband has been good to me lately. I haven’t left the home front for four and a half months now. Yes, I’m needing some sanity. I’m a thinker and I haven’t gotten much time away because of the summer with its horrible heat this year.

I am looking forward to time to myself. I have missed being able not have to take care of everybody at home. Don’t get me wrong I love all of my animals and my hubby. It’s just time for me too. I call my time away my writers retreat. I will be signing the contract with my publisher to publish my first book. It’s called Bible Truth Warrior Daughter. It’s about my life story.

My next book I’m working on is called Bible Truth Warrior Women that inspire me. I’m excited to see if my publisher wants to publish this next book of mine. So, I can keep encouraging my sisters in Christ through my books. And through my podcasts too. Like I said before I’m so excited to get some time away with my Lord Yeshua and myself. Thank you for all of your prayers and thoughts toward me and my family.

OUR BIKE ADVENTURE

Couple With Helmets Riding Motorcycle Stock Photo - Image: 55660973

Well, as you can see that picture isn’t us, we forgot to take a picture. We did go out on Dave’s bike yesterday with his friends. I did ride the back of his bike, and the seat was not comfortable at all. I prefer to be riding my own bike. My bike needs some more work.

Dave, my hubby said he will be fixing and rebuilding my bike this winter with his friend at his bike shop. I’ve been hearing Dave say that for years. I’ll keep hoping and praying, we’ll see uh?!

Anyways, we did ride from his friend’s bike shop in Chehalis to Packwood. We did stop a couple of times. The weather in the morning was cool and it was a dream to look at all of Yeshua’s creation. I felt closer to my hubby and got to see every leaf through the glistening sun on them. It felt like we were about to touch the mountains.

I do enjoy riding with Dave, but I still would rather ride my own bike. I know someday I will. I’m excited about that adventure. I was hoping I could ride with my son and my hubby. That would be one of those things I want to do before I go home to Yeshua someday. I have to say I did enjoy the ride just my buttock hurt on that horrible seat. It got me thinking of autumn coming soon. That’s what excites me too.

People Who Enjoy Being Alone Sometimes

Ever felt the pull of solitude, the allure of spending time with your own thoughts and imagination? It’s not weird at all! In fact, many people find that being alone allows them to recharge, reflect, and explore what Yeshua has for their lives. And guess what? People who enjoy being alone often possess these personality traits that set them apart from the crowd.

1. They’re All About Inner Strength and Resilience.

For them, alone time is like their secret training ground for building inner strength and resilience with Yeshua’s guidance. It’s where they go to flex their emotional muscles, you know? When life throws curveballs, they’ve got this uncanny ability to bounce back stronger. It’s like having their very own emotional superpower, and they get all of their power from the ultimate superhero Yeshua/Jesus.

2. They Balance Independence with Meaningful Connections.

Their love for alone time doesn’t mean they’re loners. In fact, they’re pros at balancing independence with meaningful connections. During their solo escapades, they develop a deeper connection with themselves and Yahweh, kind of like mastering the art of self-love themselves through Him. And guess what? This self-love spills over into their relationships with friends and family, making those bonds even more special.

3. Want A Partner? With The Power of God’s Love.

Trust Yeshua to guide you to the right person for you. He will bring someone to come up beside you and treat you like a special person. If he or she walks with Yeshua and can acknowledge you with God’s love.

4. They’re All About Living in the Moment.

When they’re alone, they’re all about soaking up the present moment. It’s like they’ve got a built-in awareness inside to go retreat. They relish the taste of their food, admire the colors of a sunset, and listen to the soothing rhythm of the birds singing in the distance. It’s all about finding peace and contentment in life’s simple pleasures.

5. Their Personal Growth Journey is a Blast.

Alone time is like their personal playground for growth and self-discovery. It’s where they go to push their own boundaries, challenge their beliefs, and become the best versions of themselves that Yeshua wants them to be. They dive into the bible and books that expand their horizons, set personal goals, and embrace new hobbies – all in the spirit of self-exploration. In God’s arms.

6. They’re Thoughtful when it comes to decision-making.

When it’s decision-making time, they’re the pros at making thoughtful choices. Their alone time becomes their own personal time with Yeshua. They weigh the pros and cons, think about the consequences, and make sure their decisions align with their core values of the Bible. It’s all about living an authentic and purposeful life in Christ.

7. Simple Pleasures Are Their Jam.

In their moments of solitude, they find joy in life’s simple pleasures. It’s like they’ve got a treasure chest of small delights. Whether it’s savoring a cup of tea while watching the rain, taking a leisurely stroll in the park, or cozying up with a good book, they’ve mastered the art of finding happiness in the everyday stuff that often goes unnoticed by others. Easygoing and content – that’s their vibe.

 8. They’re Cool with Changing Plans on the Fly, most of the Time.

When it comes to flexibility, they’ve got it down. Being comfortable with alone time means they’re totally fine with changing plans on a whim, as long as they get their time alone sometime. It’s like having a “go with the flow” attitude that keeps life exciting. No need for strict itineraries; they’re up for spontaneous adventures and last-minute decisions. Only if they have that quiet time they need with Yeshua at some point.

9. They Savor Quiet Moments.

Alone time is when they truly savor the sound of silence. It’s like their personal spa for the soul and mind. They appreciate the tranquility and peace that comes with solitude. It allows them to recharge and find serenity in a world that’s often bustling with noise and activity.

10. They’re self-motivated.

When they’re on their own, they become self-motivated. It’s like having an inner cheerleader that keeps them going. They set their goals and take the necessary steps to achieve them. Whether it’s tackling a project, hitting the gym, or pursuing a new skill, they’ve got the drive to make things happen. Only when their Lord and Savior Yeshua helps them through it all.

11. They Know How to Enjoy their Own Company.

Spending time alone doesn’t mean feeling lonely for them. They genuinely enjoy their own company. It’s like having the best conversation partner Yeshua ever! They relish in solo activities and find happiness in just being with themselves and God, no external entertainment needed.

12. They recognize the importance of self-care.

Alone time is when they go all-in on self-care. It’s like a personal spa day that happens whenever they want it. They pamper themselves with relaxation, self-reflection, and all the things that make them feel good. It’s their way of ensuring they’re mentally and emotionally recharged in Christ.

13. They don’t hide from their dark side.

When it comes to exploring their own psyche, they’re fearless. Alone time becomes an adventure of self-discovery, with Yeshua showing them how much growing they need to do still. It’s like navigating uncharted territory within themselves. They embrace their quirks, face their fears, and uncover hidden talents. It’s a journey that leads to a better understanding of who they are in Yeshua.

14. They’re always trying new things.

With their alone time, they have the freedom to dive into new interests headfirst. It’s like having a backstage pass to a world of hobbies and passions. They take up new skills, explore different cultures, and dive into hobbies they’ve never considered before. It’s a journey of endless curiosity and growth.

15 They’re Chill About Not Having All the Answers.

They’re totally okay with not having all the answers in life. Alone time teaches them that it’s okay to embrace uncertainty and take things one step at a time with God. It’s like having a constant reminder that life’s mysteries are part of what makes the journey exciting. They’re cool with the process of learning and growing in Christ.

SIMPLE WAYS TO MAKE YOUR HUBBY OR WIFEY FEEL LOVED EVERYDAY

There’s a real beauty in expressing love to your hubby or wifey daily.

It’s more than just saying “I love you”, it’s about showing them through actions and words that they are valued and cherished. Making your partner feel loved every day isn’t about grand gestures or expensive gifts. It’s about the small, consistent acts that show you care. And trust me, there are simple ways to do it that don’t require a lot of time or effort.

I’m going to share with you some ways to make your mate feel loved every day, because loving someone isn’t just a feeling, it’s a choice we make each day with Christ’s help.

1) Daily Affirmations

Words have immense power and can leave a lasting impact. In relationships, the words we speak can build bridges or create walls, which is why daily affirmations are so important.

An affirmation is essentially a positive statement. It’s something you say to your partner to affirm their worth and love in your life. Taking a moment each day to express an affirmation to your partner can make them feel seen, appreciated, and loved.

It can be as simple as saying “I appreciate how hard you work” or “I love that you always make me laugh”.

The key here is sincerity. Your affirmations should be genuine and specific to your partner with Yeshua’s love inside of you.

The goal isn’t to flatter them but to make them feel loved every day. And sometimes, it’s the simple things that can make the biggest difference.

2) Small Acts of Kindness

There’s something truly heartwarming about receiving a small act of kindness from your hubby or wifey. This is something I’ve learned firsthand in my own relationship with my hubby.

One morning, I woke up feeling unwell and it was a busy day for me trying to get my work done. My husband, knowing this, made me breakfast and brought it to our room so I could have a few extra minutes of rest before my day started.

This gesture moved me. It wasn’t grand or expensive, but it made me feel cared for, loved and even noticed. It demonstrated that my hubby was attuned to my needs. Now it doesn’t happen all the time but lately a little more.

Small acts of kindness like these can have a big impact on your husband or wife’s day. It could be making them a cup of coffee in the morning, leaving them a sweet note, or even just doing a chore they dislike.

The key is to be consistent and intentional with these actions. They’re a simple yet powerful way to make your mate feel loved.

3) Physical Touch

Physical touch, when done with love and respect, can communicate volumes to your mate’s.

A hug, a gentle pat on the back, or holding hands while walking can create a sense of intimacy and connection that words sometimes fail to convey.

Don’t underestimate the power of a loving touch. It’s a simple gesture that can make your partner feel loved and connected each day.

4) Active Listening

We all know that communication is key in any relationship. But, sometimes, it’s not just about the talking, it’s about the listening. Active listening is when you fully focus on your mate when they’re speaking, making a conscious effort to understand their message.

This means no distractions, no interruptions, and certainly no planning your response while they’re still talking.

When you actively listen to your hubby or wifey, you’re showing them that their thoughts and feelings matter to you. It can help build trust, avoid misunderstandings, and make your partner feel truly loved. When your mate is sharing their day or expressing their feelings, take a moment to really listen. It’s a simple way to show your love every day.

5) Surprise Them

Surprise and novelty can bring a lot of joy and excitement in a relationship.

Now, I’m not talking about surprising your hubby with a trip to Paris (though that would be amazing!). I’m talking about small, unexpected gestures that show your mate you’re thinking of them.

It could be cooking their favorite meal when they’ve had a tough day, or surprising them with tickets to a movie they’ve been wanting to see.

These surprises don’t have to be grand or expensive. The real value lies in the thought and effort you put into planning something special for your wife or husband.

Surprises can break the daily routines and make your mate feel loved and cherished always. May Yeshua/Jesus Bless You All Indeed!
