MY OLD SELF

Have you ever performed on stage or done anything radical before?

carmen hansen

Yes, I have on stage in a high school play. And I was in debate class too. I was a very shy gal. So, I tried these avenues to pull me out of shyness. I acted on stage for two semesters. I had a lot of fun but didn’t want to keep doing it. I went to debate class to learn how to speak up to people and to let them know what I was thinking of on each subject, and I realized I had a voice. My mother always told me I would amount to nothing. She didn’t realize how strong I was and passionate I am. Yeshua has taught me to have a voice of my own. I am strong as a warrior woman in Yeshua Ha Mashiach. I do have a lot of opinions maybe a little too much, well, maybe. Before I excepted Yeshua in my heart at 27years old. I used to do radical things to see if I was still alive. Friends would do dares for me to do, and I would go do them. Even jumping off of a bridge into the water, even though I didn’t know how to swim very well at all. Of course, I had my best friend down below to save me and she was there. Or else I wouldn’t be here. My husband and son don’t know this about the old me. I would ride a bicycle on a cliff, a rocky cliff up mountains. It’s like I tried to kill myself in a way, I guess. I did not care about much. I had a lot of pain and hate inside me. Crazy uh?! Yeshua saved me from trying to hurt myself and He sent out a lot of angels to protect me. I praise Him!!!

             Have Courage in Yeshua

Courage is a quality every believer needs in their walk with God. Life brings challenges, trials, and moments of fear, but the Bible offers countless reminders that we can be strong and courageous through faith. This post will guide you through 40 powerful bible verses about courage to uplift your spirit and strengthen your heart.

What Does the Bible Say About Courage?

The Bible is rich with passages encouraging believers to be brave and strong. Courage, in a biblical sense, is not about the absence of fear but about standing firm in faith despite fear. Whether facing enemies, personal trials, or daunting tasks, God consistently calls His people to take heart, trust in Him, and move forward.

  • Joshua 1:9 is a foundational verse on this subject: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Throughout Scripture, courage is often linked to God’s presence. When we know that God is with us, fear loses its grip, and faith rises within us. These verses will show that courage comes from trusting in God’s promises, relying on His strength, and standing firm in the face of adversity.

Here are 40 powerful bible verses about courage:

  1. Joshua 1:9 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

MY BOO BOO BEAR

As a lot of you know my sweet Frankie passed on. He was very sick at the end. It was hard to watch him not be able to hike anymore with me. Then it got to the point where he could walk slowly with me around the property. Then to not being able to hold himself up to walk down the stairs to go potty.

The vet we went to was so kind to us all. My hubby and I had to put him down. We could tell he was hurting badly. We had just put our son’s cat down at the end of August. Menorah was with us for 17 years. He was my son’s buddy for all of those years.

Letting Frankie go into Yeshua’s arms was a hard thing to do. But like a sweet young farm girl told me that Frankie is in the safest place he could be now, in heaven with Yeshua. My heart still aches, and I know my husband’s heart does too. Both of the beautiful animals we got to hang out with all those years were our family pets. They both loved all three of us. And we loved them back so much.

I’m going to make a shadow box with Menorah’s paw prints and pictures in it for my son. Then I am going to make a shadow box with Frankies paw prints and pictures in it for my hubby and I to have. I did make dog tag and kitty tag keychains for all three of us too. It’s taking me awhile to get them made. I felt like I lost a child.

How many hours of sleep do I need?

Few experiences rival the calm satisfaction of falling asleep easily and waking up feeling fully rested. But sleep is more than a luxury or idle downtime, it’s a vital biological process that supports nearly every system in your body. It allows your brain to consolidate memories, clear metabolic waste, regulate hormones (menopause) and repair muscle tissue. Your immune system also uses sleep to recharge its defenses. Without it, vital bodily functions would eventually break down, leading to death.

Despite its essential role, many of us aren’t getting enough rest; it’s a shortfall that can quietly erode both physical and mental well-being.

Here’s why sufficient sleep matters, how much you really need and some evidence-based support for better rest.

While getting seven hours of sleep each night is the recommended minimum reports show that more than 1/3 of Americans still don’t get even that amount, “suggesting an ongoing need for public awareness and public education about sleep health.

What are the benefits of extra sleep?

When sleep is cut short or consistently disrupted, nearly every system in the body suffers. That sleeping less than seven hours a night “is associated with greater likelihoods of obesity, high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary heart disease, stroke, frequent mental distress and death.”

Over time, such habits can increase not only total sleep but also the proportion of deep, restorative sleep, so you’re not just in bed longer but actually resting better.

In the end, “sleep often feels like the easiest thing to sacrifice when life gets busy. “But I recommend asking Yeshua/Jesus to help you with your sleep issues. To trust Him more and know that He’s beside you day and night.

SWEET MENORAH

This picture is Menorah and Daisy as buddies.

My son’s cat named Menorah just went home to Yeshua. I got to be buddies with him for two years. My son moved out and moved to Texas with his finance.

It was so hard to let Menorah go. I finally had to pray and ask the Lord if it was time to have him put to sleep. Oh, it hurt down deep in my heart because Menorah was my son’s cat and a huge part of my son’s heart. I have been missing Josiah for two years. I do talk with him sometimes when he’s not so busy.

So, we all went to the vet with Menorah, Josiah was there on the phone and got to say goodbye and tell Menorah that he loves him and can’t wait to see him in heaven someday. I cried and cried I couldn’t stop crying. Dave cried and cried, I didn’t know my husband fell in love with Menorah too. He called him bright eyes. I called Menorah my sweet Menorah oh and I called him fluffy butt too.

I know when I lost my first pet, Charlie, my white beautiful boy. My heart ached and I didn’t think I was going to handle it. But I did. I’ll never forget him. I know he’s with Yeshua. I believe I will see him again. Yes, I’m one of those remnants that believe in my heart that all of my precious pets I will see again in heaven.

Our sweet Menorah kitty that lived for 17 years. Wow! I am so blessed to have known and played with him for all of those years. And I know my son will never forget his best friend, Menorah.

If You Were Raised by a Narcissist

If you’ve been on the internet lately, you’ve probably seen the term “narcissist” thrown around. It’s become a common label used to describe toxic traits and behaviors, often in the context of romantic relationships.

You may think of the classic love-bombing, manipulative cheater or the arrogant, entitled spouse who is always right.

Another type of relationship that’s often plagued by narcissism is the one between a parent and child. The narcissistic parent is often depicted in a film, such as Faye Dunaway’s role in “Mommie Dearest.”

Narcissistic parents can shape the entire family dynamic and have a lasting impact on a child’s wellbeing. However, children of narcissists may not realize this until they’re struggling with the effects years or decades later.

How can you tell if a parent was a narcissist?

· Having unreasonable expectations

· Being unable to understand children’s feelings

  • Being obsessed with their family’s appearance
  • Not respecting child’s boundaries
  • Giving love conditionally based on a child’s ability to perform or meet their expectations

Narcissistic parents often use enmeshment to control children. It’s communicated in a million ways that the child doesn’t get to be separate from the parent, so the child having a need or a want that’s different would be selfish.

They often put themselves first. There’s no awareness, no attunement to their child. Children may feel responsible for their parent’s happiness, at the cost of their own desires and dreams.

If a child shows emotions that evoke shame in the parent, they are often viewed as a “bad kid.” They may blame one child for everything the “scapegoat” or pit children against each other.

Narcissistic parents also weaponize guilt. “Even if they don’t say it directly, they’ll say, ‘you owe me.”

“Narcissistic parents view themselves as special or perfect, and they expect that from their children.” Errors are often not tolerated, and when errors do happen, the parent may become verbally abusive or give the silent treatment.

Generally, narcissistic parents lack empathy, but they can also be inconsistent with love. A narcissistic parent may have mostly bad days but one good day when they show glimpses of warmth and attention, which a child often holds onto.

Due to the appearance-obsessed nature of narcissists, this dysfunction isn’t always obvious.

Narcissistic relationships are also on a spectrum. At the most severe level, there’s violence and abuse. “Most people are at the moderate-to-mild end … but it’s still incredibly invalidating.”

Being Raised by a Narcissist

Growing up with a narcissistic parent or caregiver can significantly affect a person’s development, mental health and behavior in childhood and adulthood.

“The child doesn’t have options. They have to attach to their parents for survival. This is also who feeds them and houses them and who is meant to make them feel emotionally safe.”

In order to maintain that attachment, children will learn to modify themselves, which can impact self-esteem.

Never Feeling Good Enough

The sign that a person was raised by a narcissist is chronically feeling like they are “not enough.” “I haven’t done enough. I didn’t try hard enough. I didn’t give enough.”

Other parenting styles or childhood trauma can also cause a person to feel this way, But “I think there’s something unique about the child with a narcissistic parent, because the myth sold to the child is that there’s always something they can do that would be enough.”

During adulthood, this may manifest as perfectionism, self-doubt, shame and imposter syndrome. “They’re always peddling faster and faster it seems.” “You (think) you have to earn love. You have to earn validation. You have to earn being seen.”

They may struggle to set boundaries or become codependent people-pleasers because they’re used to sacrificing themselves for a narcissistic parent.

Another telltale sign a person was raised by a narcissist is difficulty expressing needs, wants or aspirations, that it’s because they were made to feel ungrateful or selfish when they did.

Inconsistent reactions from the narcissistic parent, like rage or emotional abandonment, also create anxiety. Yelling at a child is terrible. Withdrawing and withholding from a child is worse. These children become adults who fear speaking up. They feel like they don’t have a voice. I have found that I finally have a voice through Yeshua (Jesus).

They think, “I better not share what I need or I’m going to lose my partner, or if I try to negotiate for a higher salary, this person won’t hire me, or if I say how I’m feeling people, will think I’m overly sensitive and dramatic.”

What to Do if You Think Your Parent is a Narcissist

First, always consult a mental health professional if you have concerns.

Generally, the first step is acknowledging the parent’s narcissistic behavior. What they did wasn’t OK, and it hurt you.

Some children may struggle and feel disloyal, especially if the narcissistic parent had a difficult past, such as trauma.

Healing can look different for everyone. It may involve therapy, support groups and lifestyle changes.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach for dealing with a narcissistic parent. Some people may not engage at all or limit communication, whereas others adopt coping strategies because they still live with their parents, for example.

The parent may never apologize or change, but you can control your reactions and set healthy boundaries on yourself.

Finally, it’s important to practice self-care, you deserve it. I know it might take some time to realize that your Savior, Yeshua can and is working in you.

Kings Who Had More Than One Wife & Kings Who Stayed True to One Wife

Lives Shaped by Love and Power

Love and power often clashed within palace walls, shaping history in ways you wouldn’t expect. Some kings had many wives and faced tangled relationships that influenced their kingdoms. Others devoted themselves to a single wife and left a legacy of loyalty. Their stories show the human side of royalty, where choices of the heart mattered as much as the crown. Let’s first look at kings who embraced multiple marriages and the lives they built around them.

1. King Solomon Of Israel

King Solomon of Israel is biblically recorded as having 700 wives and 300 concubines. These unions weren’t solely for desire, they served political ends, strengthening alliances with foreign powers. However, his marriages to foreign wives and princesses created deep religious tensions.

2. Emperor Moulay Ismail of Morocco

Marked by calculated marriages to unify tribes, Moulay Ismail’s rule spanned over five decades. With four wives, 500 concubines, and reportedly over 800 children, he used his harem as a political tool while enforcing order and building lasting architectural marvels.

3. Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of India

A patron of opulence, he’s credited with popularizing the Patiala peg. Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala kept 10 wives and 350 concubines, and he fathered 88 children, but only 52 survived. Among his consorts, Rajmata Vimal Kaur held a special place in his life.

4. Pharaoh Ramses II Of Egypt

During his 66-year reign, Ramses II married over 200 women and fathered more than 100 children. These unions bolstered his image as both ruler and god. His favorite wife, Nefertari, was immortalized in colossal temples built to celebrate her status.

5. King Mongkut Of Siam

Ruling from 1851 to 1868, King Mongkut had over 30 wives and concubines. Most marriages weren’t for love, as they were diplomatic moves. He ruled from 1851 to 1868 and pushed Siam into the modern age, and even inspired the hit musical The King and I.

6. King Henry VIII Of England

Henry VIII had six wives, three of whom were officially annulled through the Church of England. His strong desire for a male heir led to the English Reformation and the creation of a national church separate from Rome. It had a long-lasting effect on religion and the monarchy.

7. King Sobhuza II Of Swaziland

Reigning for over 60 years, King Sobhuza II of Swaziland had 70 wives and fathered 210 children between 1920 and 1970. At his passing, his royal line had expanded to include more than 1,000 grandchildren, and his dynasty shaped the nation’s leadership and traditions for generations.

Now that we’ve seen kings with many marriages, let’s turn to those who remained loyal to a single queen.

8. King George VI Of England

King George VI married Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and remained devoted throughout their lives. Their partnership endured the trials of World War II and personal hardship, including his early speech challenges. He was the father of Queen Elizabeth II and led with quiet strength.

9. King Louis XVI Of France

Though arranged, King Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette’s marriage proved stable through personal and political turmoil. Unfortunately, both were executed during the French Revolution, and their union remains a powerful symbol of the monarchy’s dramatic fall.

10. King Haakon VII Of Norway

When Norway became independent in 1905, Haakon VII stepped up as king, with Princess Maud of Wales by his side. Their marriage wasn’t just royal; it helped boost national pride. He kept things grounded and was known for being humble and fair.

11. King Albert I Of Belgium

King Albert I, married to Elisabeth of Bavaria, guided Belgium through World War I with bravery and moral resolve. His battlefield presence earned him the title “Knight King,” while their admired partnership became a symbol of strength across war-torn Europe.

12. Emperor Hongzhi Of China

During his Ming Dynasty reign from 1487 to 1505, Emperor Hongzhi chose lifelong monogamy with Empress Zhang. Their relationship, built on mutual respect, defied imperial norms. She played a visible role in governance and was widely respected by court officials.

13. Henry VII Of England

His marriage in 1486 to Elizabeth of York brought peace to war-torn England and evolved into an affectionate, lasting personal bond. Henry never remarried after her passing, and their elaborate tombs stand at Westminster Abbey.

14. King Charles I Of England

Charles I and Henrietta Maria stayed committed through civil unrest and religious divides and were married for 23 years. Though their union faced scrutiny, their private letters paint a picture of deep affection and mutual loyalty that endured until Charles’s execution.

I hope you enjoyed a little history of the wives of kings through the ages. It was fun to do some research on this subject. I pray you all be blessed in Yeshua’s name.

Calm Phrases That Shut Down Rude People

If you’ve ever dealt with someone so rude that it caught you off guard, you’ll know how frustrating and harmful it can be. But you don’t have to match someone’s bad attitude to make your point. These phrases are like secret weapons, they’re polite, to the point, and they shut down disrespect fast.

  1. “Let’s keep this respectful”

Nobody likes being talked down to. This phrase is a way of calling it out without getting aggressive. It signals that the tone of the conversation isn’t okay and that you expect better. Saying it with a calm, steady voice lets you take charge without creating more tension. People often rethink their tone when you show them where the line is.

  • “I’m not comfortable with that”

There’s something incredibly grounding about expressing how you feel in a direct way. You’re not pointing fingers; you’re simply stating your own boundary. That’s what makes this phrase effective. It can be used in so many situations, and it gives you a clear out without needing to explain yourself. Most people don’t push further after hearing this because it’s so neutral but firm.

  • “Let’s take a step back”

Things can get heated quickly when someone’s being rude, and it’s easy to get pulled into it. Using this phrase lets you pause the moment and create a little breathing room. It puts space between you and the other person’s behavior without needing to argue or defend yourself.

In group situations, it can also help others recognize that something’s off. You’re basically saying, “Hold up,” but in a calm, grown-up way that invites reflection instead of conflict.

  • “I’d rather not continue this right now”

Sometimes the best thing you can do is walk away. This phrase gives you a polite exit without escalating the situation. It’s a clear signal that you’re not interested in arguing or taking on someone else’s negativity. By removing yourself, you take away their audience. It works especially well when someone’s trying to provoke a reaction.

  • “That didn’t sit right with me”

It might not seem like much, but this simple sentence packs a punch. It points out that something felt off, without sounding aggressive or accusing. It makes the other person reflect on what they said or did and usually softens the energy immediately. You’re not calling them names you’re calling attention to your reaction.

  • “I’m not okay with being spoken to like that”

You deserve to be treated with respect, plain and simple. If someone’s tone or words are crossing a line, this phrase spells it out. It leaves no room for guessing. Sometimes people test your boundaries just to see what you’ll tolerate. This is how you show them your limit. Keep your tone calm and confident, and you’ll be surprised how quickly people back down when they realize you’re not afraid to speak up.

  • “We can revisit this when things cool down”

Disagreements happen, but rudeness shouldn’t be part of the deal. If someone’s getting out of hand, you can press pause with this line. It doesn’t shut the door it just says, “Not like this.” You’re showing maturity and patience without letting them walk all over you.

  • “That’s not something I’m going to engage with”

Not everything needs a reaction. When someone’s clearly trying to get under your skin, this phrase stops them cold. It tells them you’re not here to entertain drama or disrespect. No yelling, no back-and-forth, just a clear refusal to take the bait. It works particularly well in text or email, too.

  • “You’re entitled to your opinion, but I disagree.”

Not every rude comment needs a comeback. Sometimes a simple statement like this is enough. It shuts down any attempt to bait you into an argument while keeping the door closed to further disrespect.

You’re making it clear that you won’t be swayed or silenced, but you’re not stooping to their level either. This is a great phrase when someone’s being snide, condescending, or just plain mean in a discussion.

  1. “Please don’t speak to me like that”

It’s direct. It’s clear. And it gets the job done. You’re not asking for permission, you’re stating your boundary. This phrase is especially useful when someone is raising their voice or using a nasty tone. By calmly saying this, you take the spotlight off their anger and put it on your expectation for basic decency.

  1. “I’m going to step away for a minute”

Instead of lashing out, try removing yourself from the situation. This phrase is a calm way to protect your peace without causing more tension. You’re not storming off, you’re just choosing space over conflict. It also gives the other person time to reflect on their behavior, and sometimes that’s all it takes for things to settle.

  1. “Let’s try to stay focused on the issue”

Rude people often veer off-topic to stir up drama or make things personal. Bring things back to center with this line. It reminds everyone what matters and makes it harder for the other person to keep up the behavior without looking petty. You’re not dismissing the person you’re just redirecting the energy to something productive.

  1. “That’s not appropriate”

Sometimes the quickest way to shut down rudeness is to name it. This phrase cuts through the noise without adding any fuel. It works especially well when someone says something offensive or out of line in a group setting. Saying it firmly, without emotion, puts the pressure back on them to rethink their words.

  1. “Let’s not go there”

Some people love to stir the pot, especially when it comes to touchy topics. This phrase gives you a smooth way to shut that down before it starts. You’re not asking for a debate, you’re signaling that you won’t participate. This works really well for rude jokes, passive-aggressive remarks, or loaded questions.

  1. “I think we need a break from this conversation”

When things get tense and unproductive, this phrase steps in like a timeout. It’s a healthy boundary that says, “This isn’t working.” Instead of getting pulled into someone else’s chaos, you’re choosing peace.

It also opens the door for a more respectful discussion later if you even want one. You’re not walking away forever, but you are choosing when and how to engage.

  1. “I hear you, but that was uncalled for”

Rudeness disguised as honesty is still rudeness. This phrase acknowledges the other person’s words without letting them off the hook for being disrespectful. It gives you a chance to keep the conversation going if needed, while still holding your boundary. Sometimes people don’t realize their tone or word choice was hurtful until you name it.

  1. We can continue this when you’re ready to be respectful”

When someone’s being difficult, this line draws a clear line in the sand. You’re open to continuing the conversation but only under the right conditions. This keeps the power in your hands without creating unnecessary tension. It’s especially helpful when someone’s being rude in a discussion that actually matters, like a work issue or a family situation.

Women Who Tend to be Excellent Wives Share these Traits

In today’s world, where relationships evolve and traditional roles are questioned, a great wife is not someone who sacrifices herself in silence, but a woman who builds a relationship based on mutual respect, depth, and emotional growth. Women who tend to be excellent wives usually have a special combination of emotional intelligence, empathy, self-respect, and true commitment.

1. They know How to Listen Without Interrupting

They understand that listening with empathy strengthens the connection. They don’t rush to respond—they focus on understanding first.

2. They have Strong Emotional Intelligence

They recognize their emotions and express them with maturity. They speak when needed, pause when appropriate, and handle conflict without drama.

3. They Offer Support without Losing Themselves

They motivate their partner without controlling. They support goals and dreams while also pursuing their own.

4. They Care about the Little Things

Not because it’s expected, but because they know love grows in daily gestures a meal made with care, a comforting hug, or a thoughtful message.

5. They set Boundaries with Respect

They don’t accept everything. They know how to say “no” without shouting, teaching that respect starts with self-respect.

6. They Value Honest Communication

They prefer uncomfortable truths over silent distance. They understand that talking in time prevents emotional gaps.

7. They Don’t Compete they Collaborate

They’re not threatened by their partner’s success. They celebrate it. They know love isn’t a power struggle.

8. They Nurture their Self-Esteem

They don’t depend on their partner to feel valuable. They love themselves, take care of themselves, and show up as emotionally grounded women.

9. They are Faithful to Their Values

They don’t change their morals for convenience. Their integrity brings trust and stability to the relationship.

10. They Know How to Forgive but Don’t Forget the Lesson

They forgive with strength, not naivety. They learn from their experiences and grow wiser.

11. They Have a Sense of Humor

They know how to laugh with their partner, ease tension, and enjoy the beauty in everyday life.

12. They Don’t Cling to Control

They trust. They don’t obsess over monitoring or micromanaging. They give freedom because they understand that love thrives on trust.

13. They Believe in Love that’s Built, Not Assumed

They don’t idealize. They work. They know love is sustained through daily effort, and they’re willing to give what they expect to receive.

Proverbs 31:10-11

“An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.”

Genesis 2:18

“Then the Lord God said, ‘It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit for him.’”

Proverbs 12:4

“An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who brings shame is like rottenness in his bones.”

Bible Truth Warrior Daughter in Christ

I hope this book will encourage you to realize there are other women who have gotten through the ugliest and come out of it in the name of Yeshua (Jesus). I am encouraging you not to give up. You will be touched by my words of comfort through life’s challenges. I pray this book will captivate you, and you will see Yeshua in every step I took in my life. Be that wild and free woman of God! I know you can get through anything, as long as you keep close to Him. When I say to be wild and free, it’s not to be restricted by the dogmas that are placed on us as kids. I am saying live your life with a boldness in Christ. I believe He wants us to stand up and stand firm in our resolve, with Yeshua there to be our rear guard. My life journey has been a rocky one until I found Yeshua (Jesus) when I turned twenty-seven years old. I praise Him for saving me. I know where I’m going, and I finally understand my purpose in this life. The brokenness in this life is our strength, remember, ladies? And Father God says He will use it for His good. I do believe that totally. To be wild and free is to be created as powerful women of God. What does that mean for you, beautiful women of the Almighty? We are all warrior women, daughters to Yeshua Ha Mashiach!
